Our everyday work focused on children arriving and living at and around Railway Stations requires us to work with child protection systems and mechanisms to warrant a holistic approach to their care and protection, ensuring they take to a life off the streets. Open shelter homes become an important stop for children who have runaway from home, been lost or gone missing amongst other vulnerable situations. From paying equal attention to their nutrition intake, health checkups, non-formal education, psycho-social support and medical needs, here’s a quick snapshot of the provisions we make for children before they are repatriated back with their families or referred to long-term care homes.
