It’s a critical job, but a challenging one. Photographers and journalists are risking their lives, exposing themselves to the possibility of contracting the virus (just like healthcare experts) only to tell the stories of those who are most impacted by the COVID19 pandemic and lockdown in India – our children.

It is through these personal narratives of children walking miles to make it back home to their villages, waiting for hours and days on end to hitch a ride on the next bus, falling asleep on their father’s shoulders as they traverse national highways, that the rest of us are able to witness the gravity of this crisis.

Here’s a selection of photojournalists who took to Instagram to report real stories in real time, compelling us to relook at the COVID19 pandemic through a childhood lens.
