Makers Not Takers – #WorldYouthSkillDay And The Pandemic

MAKERS NOT TAKERS

From students

To lifelong learners

As we string along words

From our days in school

And all the dreams we dream,

It is only our skills that are the bridge.

Skills makes us doers of our dreams.

Skills that allow you to transcend

From school to work,

Might be oratory skills, STEM and applied learning.

Equipped with schooling knowledge,

Ferocious passion and drive,

We hone our skills

To become makers not takers,

To become the hands that feed ourselves.

In times like now,

With a virus that demands isolation,

The youth must still learn veraciously

For their futures still shine bright

Plagued by the lockdown, sure,

But still bright.

While the time stands still,

Education and learning must continue

Away from schools and groups,

Our brains still electrified by curiosity.

For above all,

Learning is the skill

That thrives amidst uncertain times.
